Hi, I’m Alli!

2–3 minutes

I graduate in April with my bachelor’s in digital marketing from Alma College. I have worked in content creation and digital marketing for 4 years working with a variety of different businesses.

I got interested in media and storytelling in high school where I was part of the publications team that created the yearbook and homecoming posters. After graduation I didn’t have a single idea about what I wanted to major in I just knew I wanted to get out of my small town and continue learning as much as I could. While my plan to study out west in Colorado Springs fell through, I found a home at Alma College.

No matter your field, I feel capable to create meaningful and effective marketing strategies and content.

Being fully committed to my growth and taking advantage of my opportunities, I joined a sorority, Kappa Iota, rock climbing club, and got a job for the school newspaper, The Almanian. My first position in all of these organizations was Public Relations and Social Media Management. I continued these positions for a year and a half while thinking of majoring in engineering. When I realized I don’t love math enough to major in engineering I decided I should follow my heart and pursue Digital Marketing.

While Digital Marketing is not its own special thing it is a unique crossing of Design, Business Analytics, and New Media (photography, videography, and editing). Having an understanding of all three sectors allows me to use the design thinking process to analyze a business problem and create solutions in “new” media (even though digital media is no longer new).

Four years of social media management experience at The Almanian, a local internship, and international digital marketing classes have given me a unique outlook on the creative side of the business world. How to beautifully represent analytics to shareholders, create interesting advertisements, and run complex marketing campaigns on social media are all well within my scope.

My father has always told me that if you love what you do then I’ll never have to work a day in my life. I truly believe I will never have to work as long as I can continue to create.
